FAQ

Do I need to be an elite runner

Not at all!  Our retreats are catered to runners of all levels.  Our retreats are as much "retreat" as they are "running", and so just a love of moving, exploring, and having fun is required!  We do ask that all participants can comfortably run up to 45 minutes, and have no previous medical condition that would inhibit their ability to participate in group runs and fitness classes.

What do I need to bring

You will be on vacation in Hawaii, so please pack accordingly.  Warm weather running clothes (shorts and tank/singlet are recommended), running shoes, hat/visor, sunglasses and sweat proof sunscreen will all come in handy for the retreat.  We will also be treating the group to a mix of dining experiences (casual to fine dining) and so additional outfits are recommended.  A complete pack list will be sent to you 1 month prior to the trip.

What do I do for lunches

Up to you!  The host hotel offers a variety of dining options, all of which can be charged to your room and paid by you upon check out.  We also encourage you to get out and explore the Island, by trying a variety of different local food options.  We will be providing lunch during our day in the Upcountry.

I have special dietary restrictions.  Will I be accommodated

Yes!  After you have registered, you will receive via e-mail a questionnaire that will allow us to get to know you better.  Letting us know of any dietary restrictions at this time is recommended, so we can ensure that all meals provided will take your requests into account.

When should I arrive

Accommodation is included for the night before the retreat, and so we recommend that you arrive that day.  The retreat will begin first thing in the morning as per the schedule.

Do I need a car

No.  The retreat includes transportation to and from the airport to the host hotel.  If you think you will want to do some Island exploring on your own during free time, or plan on extending your stay, we do recommend that you rent a car.  There is lots to see in Hawaii, and a car is the best way to make the most of your time.

Are flights included

No.  Please ensure that you are flying into the correct airport, and provide us with your flight information 1 month prior to the retreat.

Can I extend my stay at the hotel

Yes!  The hotel will be extending our preferred rate to you 3 days prior and 3 days post the retreat.  If you would like to book additional nights, please let us know, and we will connect you with the reservations team.

Can I bring my family or kids

If you are planning on travelling with additional family members, they are welcome to share your room with you  (additional per person room fees will apply).  Please note that this retreat has an age minimum of 21+, and any family members that have travelled with you that have not paid for the full retreat, will not be able to join us for group runs or meals.

splitting up payments

No.  Full payment is required at time of registration, and can only be paid in 1 transaction.

Cancellation policy

We fully understand that life happens, and often trip plans need to change.  Because of this, we have a fairly detailed cancellation policy:

> 180 days prior to retreat = 75% refund
> 120 days prior to retreat = 50% refund
> 30 days prior to retreat = 25% refund
< 29 days prior to retreat = no refund

Do you include travel insurance

No.  If you wish to have any medical or travel insurance, you will be fully responsible for supplying this yourself.

What additional activities can I do

There is so much to see and do in Hawaii!  Our host hotel offers many activities you can sign up for separately, and make sure to check out our "Things to Do" section on the Retreat info page.  1 month prior to the retreat, we will be sending you our list of favourite Island activities as well.
